This Is The Religion Of Earth

this is the religion of earth
the native god images
a hawk with a pigeon in it’s talons
glides into an orange fall maple tree
the deer I see on my path today
is mine alone immaculately
yet I share it with all of thee
as I squeeze the oak savannah leaves
collecting the silver rocks under the Ash
blessing them in the urban waterfall
wrapping them in my golden scarf
this is the religion of earth
the native god music
that heals us
from the wounds of life
this is the eye gliding the sky
light or dark
blue or grey
this is the god of earth’s religion
a planet breathing in itself
looking for it’s own god
finding it within
